Venkatesh unveiled the first look of his Telugu film Naarappa on Instagram.
It is directed by Sreekanth Addala.
Naarappa is a remake of Vetrimaaran’s Tamil movie Asuran, starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier, and based on Poomani’s novel called Vekkai.
The story is inspired by the Kilvenmani massacre in 1968, where 44 Dalit labourers were murdered.
Venkantesh plays a farmer in the film, and has been losing weight for the role.
Priyamani plays his leading lady.
Naarappa is Venkantesh 74th film; his last film was the action drama Venky Mama.
