BSNL 80,000 employees can take the VRS scheme

70,000 personnel selected VRS
BSNL CMD Praveen Kumar Purwar says that around 70,000 people have already opted for VRS and they expect a number of employees to take VRS before the scheme ends in December.
58,000 VRS was assessed
Purwar told our colleague Times of India, ‘We have given the Handsome VRS package and are confident that our goal of giving VRS to 80 thousand people will be achieved.’ Explain that the government had hoped that around 58,000 employees of the company can opt for the VRS scheme, but this number has been exceeded.

BSNL is the largest loss-making state-owned company in the country and it is expected that its loss will increase to around Rs 14,000 crore in FY 2018-19.
