According to ad-tracking firm Advertising Analytics, this is the largest weekly TV advertising spend by a candidate ever. Before Bloomberg, they named this record after former President Barack Obama. He spent $25 million (Rs 179.29 crore) a week in the last phase of campaigning in 2012.

Bloomberg is the former mayor of New York and the founder of the financial information and media company Bloomberg. His net worth is $54 billion (3.87 lakh crore rupees). This is 17 times more than the current President Donald Trump’s net worth of $3.1 billion (Rs 22230 crore). Bloomberg is at number 9 in Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires.

Looking at Bloomberg’s election spending, the concerns of the remaining candidates have increased. MP Bernie Sanders tweeted on Friday that he hates Michael Bloomberg’s or any billionaire’s idea that money can win elections or disrupt the political process. If you cannot garner support at the ground level for yourself, then the President should not contest.

Bloomberg was mayor of New York from 2002 to 2013. He announced his candidacy for the presidential election on Thursday. He will start a TV advertising campaign on Monday. They will hold the election of the US President in November next year.
