I was not permitted to takes the pictures of the temple from inside the premises but however allowed to click photos with a mobile camera of the garden and the structures form outside. After spending sometime in the temple garden, I went to see my cousin to have a cup of tea with him. He told me that the temple belongs to Vaishav sect of Swaminarayan Bhagwan which has a sizable following in Gujarat state.
The temple in Delhi helps devotees in preaching and imbibing four tenets of Swaminarayan Bhagwan for ultimate salvation called: dharma (good conduct), bhakti (devotion), gnana (knowledge) and vairagya (detachment), he told.
As a part of Vaishnav sect of Hinduism, the followers sing devotional songs on festivals that Swaminarayan introduced through fasting and devotion such as Vasant Panchami, Holi, and Janmashtami with organization of the traditional folk dance raas, he informed.
