Sushant Singh Rajput was cremated in the presence of family and close friends at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, north west Mumbai.
The actor was found hanging in his apartment on June 14. He was 34.
The body reached the crematorium from the Dr R N Cooper Municipal General Hospital, Juhu, around 4.15 pm.
Though it rained heavily, friends joined the actor’s final journey.

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who helmed Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara, was among the first ones to arrive at the crematorium along with Sushant’s Raabta co-star Kriti Sanon.

The actor’s Chhichhore co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Sharma and film-maker Abhishek Kapoor, who directed him in his big-screen debut Kai Po Che! as well as Kedarnath, were also present during the funeral.

Also present were Sushant’s television mentor Ekta Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Randeep Hooda, Prateik Babbar and singer Udit Narayan.

Earlier in the day, Sushant’s friend Rhea Chakraborty visited the Cooper hospital. Rhea was also present at the funeral.
According to a source, only family and select friends were allowed inside the crematorium in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the provisional post mortem report revealed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe said.
The actor had been living with two cooks and a house help.

No suicide note has been recovered from his home, the police said.
The post mortem was conducted at the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai.

Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Niraj Kumar Singh ‘Babloo’, one of Sushant’s relatives, accompanied Sushant’s father from his hometown Patna to Mumbai.
If required, the BJP MLA said an investigation would be ordered into the actor’s death.
“We still can’t believe that he is no more. If needed, we will ask for investigation,” Singh told reporters outside Sushant’s home in Patna.
