The stock market closed on a strong rise on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, on the expectation of an economic package. Today, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex closed at 28,55.78, up 1861.75 points, or 6.98 percent. This is the biggest single-day rise in the Sensex in the last 10 years. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 829.80 with a gain of 496.75 points, or 6.37 percent. Investors have earned a profit of Rs 4.23 lakh crore. The market cap (market capitalization) of BSE reached Rs 108 lakh crore.
