The Central Reserve Police Force posted a remembrance tweet on Friday, a year after 40 of its troopers were killed in a car bomb attack in Pulwama.
In the tweet, posted at 12 am, the CRPF said that they have not forgiven or forgotten the attack.
“The songs of your valour are not lost in the harsh noise/ We were so proud that we didn’t cry for long,” the force tweeted in Hindi.
“WE DID NOT FORGET, WE DID NOT FORGIVE: We salute our brothers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation in Pulwama. Indebted, we stand with the families of our valiant martyrs,” it added in English.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata MP too paid tribute to the CRPF personnel, who lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on February 14 last year.
India will never forget the martyrdom of the security personnel killed in last year’s Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday.
He termed the slain security personnel were “exceptional individuals” who devoted their lives to serving and protecting the nation.
“Remembering the fallen CRPF personnel who were martyred during the dastardly attack in Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir) on this day in 2019. India will never forget their sacrifice,” Singh tweeted.
He said that the entire country stands united against terrorism and “everyone is committed to continue fight against this menace”.
“I pay homage to the martyrs of Pulwama attack. India will forever be grateful of our bravehearts and their families who made supreme sacrifice for the sovereignty and integrity of our motherland,” tweeted Amit Shah.
“Let us all be brave enough to die the death of a martyr. The sound of bullets still echoes in our ears, the wounds still hurt like they are fresh. Salute to the supreme sacrifice of our brave hearts. Jai Hind #PulwamaAttack,” Gambhir tweeted.
At least 40 CRPF jawans were killed after the convoy of 78 buses, in which around 2,500 personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar, came under attack.
