Amid Strong opposition, Onion Prices continue to increase

The rising price of onions across the country has spoiled the kitchen budget of the people. According to data available with the Department of Consumer Affairs, the price of onion in Panaji reached Rs 165 a kg on Thursday, the highest level of onion price to date. However, there are also reports from some parts of the country that onions have also been sold at Rs 180 per kg.

In the last few days, they have recorded onion prices in various parts of the country. From November 25 to December 5, onion prices have become almost twice as expensive.

Onions in New Delhi

Talking about the capital New Delhi, according to the data of the Department of Consumer Affairs, onion in the capital reached Rs 76 per kg on November 25 and on December 5 it reached Rs 94 per kg.

Condition of Mumbai

In the country’s financial capital Mumbai, onion on November 25 lost 89 rupees and on November 30, its price fell slightly to 82 rupees and on December 5, onion prices were 120 rupees.

Onions in Chennai

On November 25, onion price in Chennai was Rs 59 kg, on November 30 it was Rs 80 kg, while on December 5 it was Rs 120 kg.

Onion prices in Kolkata

In Kolkata, onion rate was Rs 90 per kg on 25 November, 80 rupees per kg on 30 November and 120 kg on 5 December.

Panaji’s condition is bad

Onion is the most expensive selling item in Goa’s capital Panaji. On 25 November, onion was being sold at Rs 100 per kg in Panaji, Rs 110 a kg on 30 November and Rs 165 a kg on 5 December.

Average price across cities

Talking about the average price of onion in all the major cities, onion price on November 25 was 60 rupees, on November 30 it was 75 rupees, while on five December it was 100 rupees.
