This was said by Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi. Coal India will produce 1 billion tonnes of coal by FY 2024.

82 percent of the coal produced in our country
Currently, the coal production target for PSUs has been set at 660 million tonnes, which is about 82 percent of the country’s total coal production. He praised Coal India’s policy of expansion and capital investment. They will also create if these companies increase their size then thousands of employment opportunities in the coming days.
FDI will be structural reforms
On the government’s decision of 100% FDI from the automatic route in the coal sector, he said that this will lead to structural reforms in this sector and it is also needed. With the help of foreign investment, India will import coal less and we will benefit greatly. He appealed to Coal India to join the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and help the government in a big mission like water conservation.
