Trailer: Good Newwz is high on fun and entertainment

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The year 2019 belongs to Akshay Kumar.

After Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4, the actor is ready with his fourth release of the year: Good Newwz.

And the trailer is funny and entertaining from start to end.

Co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, Good Newwz is about two married couples whose lives become entwined because of a sperm mix-up.

The trailer starts with Deepti (Kareena) and Varun (Akshay) Batra, who realise they need to have a baby. They opt for IVF but aren’t the only ones in wanting a child.

Forty-five seconds into the trailer, we get to meet the other Batras: Monika (Kiara) and Honey (Diljit).

Unlike Deepti and Varun, they are a loud Punjabi couple, who love all things bling.

Diljit and Kiara have nailed their characters and made their presence felt alongside Akki and Bebo.

In fact, Diljit is brilliant at comedy and there are a few instances in the trailer when he steals the thunder quite effortlessly from Akshay.

Kiara’s expressions are bang on, especially in the scene where she is in the elevator with Akshay.

Diljit and Kiara look good together and I am really rooting for this fresh jodi.

Akshay and Kareena have done more than a dozen film, and Good Newwz is probably going to be among their best.

Their chemistry is good, they compliment each other well and they are equally funny.

The story is a big USP of Good Newwz.

While IVF is a sensitive subject, it has been handled with humour which is appealing and entertaining at the same time.

Directed by newcomer Raj Mehta, this Dharma Production venture is a comedy with loads of dhamakedaar one-liners and fine performances.
